Bita Q: Dear Cuucuu Lol I dont know why you have to take it so serious.
Cuucuu : Don't know what you mean by "taking it so serious". The fact is it should be quite annoying and disturbing, if not shameful, for any of us Vietnamese to lose control of our language and relegate what we as Vietnamese wish to express and relegate our ideas to ..
Littleprincess : Thiển ý của tớ nhé Bita. Nếu bạn cho cuucuu đang serious thì tùy cá nhân bạn, tớ tôn trọng, nhưng tớ hơi lấy làm tiếc, vì tranh luận NHIỀU KHI là cách để đi đến rốt ráo vấn đề chứ không phải là tìm hiểu nửa vời :)
Cuucuu : some superfluous criteria imposed by other language, let alone the fact that those criteria don't actually exist. As a Vietnamese, another language is a mean to communicate Vietnamese ideas, not to kowtow to whatever artifice you think exist
Cuucuu : Here are the facts: 1. for fun is NOT solely the only way to talk about the purpose of drinking. 2. EVEN IF it is, nothing should stop you from expressing Vietnamese ideas and concepts in another language. Unless you wish to succumb a colonial mentality
Cuucuu : To answer your question: am I serious about having Vietnamese pride in terms of commanding our ideas and projecting them into another language, then yes. You may not share the same seriousness about pride in our language and ideas, then so be it.
Huyle : dịch expression phải dùng expression: expression for expression. còn dịch word thì for word kẻo no one understand what the heck we are talking about.
Bita : What you have said is not "the fact". Your explanation may be true for you, but how can you be sure that it could be supported by everyone. explanation is not fact, it is just your hypothesis.
Bita : you keep saying " the fact", but it seems like you do not understand what it means
Cuucuu : @Huyle Let's go drink and forget our troubles. What is there not to understand? @Bita You're telling me that there's no such thing as drink to forget? What rules in the English language are those? I am afraid you have invented non-facts.
